I’m a marketer turned designer with over ten years of experience working with brands such as Volvo, Star Entertainment, Muffin Break and RSL Queensland. A Master of Marketing from UNSW under my belt, I decided to pursue my long-held passion for design and brand building by completing a Diploma of Graphic Design at Billy Blue College of Design.
Originally from Finland, I spent much of my childhood living overseas. The drive to learn about different countries and cultures continued well into my adulthood, spending time in Norway, the UK, Brazil, Sweden and the Netherlands. I finally decided to return to Australia, where I had spent three years of my childhood, to establish my permanent home. The name “Bird of Passage” comes from my background. I’ve lived in many countries throughout my life, and just like a migratory bird usually escaping the winter in favour of the summer.
My unique skill set in both marketing and design allows me to thoroughly understand a business or brand in order to come up with a bespoke design solution to meet their needs.
Willow & Wildflower
A brand identity for a new floral design business, Willow & Wildflower, specialising in unique floral arrangements. The project included brand strategy development, as well as setting up a social media feed, photography art direction, marketing collateral and a new website build.
Sweet Sips
New brand identity and packaging design concept for a lemon flavoured tea brand targeted at 14-17 year old girls (VSCO girls). The aim was to solve an everyday problem through a new packaging solution. The lemon slice-shaped tea bag holder fastens the tea bag onto the rim of the cup preventing it from falling into the cup when pouring in hot water.
