The Wine Collective
Brief Overview: This commercial design project involved designing a spatial concept for my client – The Wine Collective - who currently have no physical retail space. Proposing design solutions for retail/hospitality space on the ground level of a historical sandstone building located at The Rocks in Sydney, as well as designing an office space on the first floor of the building to accommodate one permanent staff member and 9 staff members who would transition within the space and not be on the site permanently.
Design Solution
• The flagship store was designed to reflect the company’s brand and ethos. Strong brand association was used by incorporating the colour purple into the space, through the use of different materials and textiles.
• The ground level design was created to attract new customers and be an engaging space suitable for product launches and similar events where the client can interact with their current and potential customers. The space took the form of a small moody and atmospheric bar – optimal given the nature of the business. Multiple floor to ceiling wine displays were designed to showcase the exceptional wines on offer. The feature piece being the vertical wine display that acts as a room divider to provide for an intimate lounge area.
• The office level was designed with versatility in mind providing workstations for 10 staff in total, one meeting area, think tank – creative work/ collaboration zone, small kitchenette & breakout space
