Hi there, my name is Shannon Malone. I’m a recent graduate of graphic design based in Sydney, Australia. I love all aspects of graphic design and want to continue learning and growing as a designer. I have a background in fashion and costume design and have previously completed a Certificate IV Applied Fashion Design and Technology and a Diploma of Costume for Performance.
My varied interests have given me a diverse range of skills with a hands-on perspective to graphic design. When I’m not designing, I love making handmade jewellery, art, sunny days, travel, photography, pastel interiors and learning as many new niche skills as I can.
La Lueur
The project brief required us to create an innovative packaging solution and brand identity by using the design thinking models.
La Lueur is a new, natural, and sustainable self-tanning brand. La Lueur is made for females who want to achieve a natural and glowing tan that enhances their natural beauty, releasing their inner goddess. The product reflects a luxury beauty product that is sustainably minded. Using design thinking models an innovative packaging solution was developed. This is seen through the addition of a biodegradable tanning mitt surrounding the bottle, the post-consumer recycled plastic bottle, and unique user-friendly design.
Through primary research, I discovered gaps within the current self-tanning market. These gaps were explored in the innovative packaging approach. The final design successfully utilises sustainable materials while creating a higher quality experience for the user. Along with the packaging, collateral was developed to further extend the overall brand experience.
